Amp Electric Grand Cherokee An NAIAS
So we mention in a post back in December that Amp would introduce an All-Electric Grand Cherokee at the North American International Auto Show in Detroit. Well they’ve done just that. This 100% electric vehicle is by all means still a Grand Cherokee. Amp has managed to incorporate the electric drive and power storage systems without altering the vehicles appearance. Aside from the 100% Electric logo on the outside, you can’t distinguish it from the factory version. The introduction of this vehicle generates a lot of questions, i.e. when will it be released, how much will it cost. Fortunately Jim Motavalli with the New York Times answers many of these questions in a recent post. So head on over to the Times to read his post for more info. You can also see the vehicle in action below.

Maserati Kubang SUV
For those of you following the Frankfurt Motor Show you know that Maserati unveiled the “Kubang” SUV. Unfortunately the vehicle is still considered to be a concept. Usually auto makers introduce concepts to the public in an attempt to gauge public reaction. Rumors have been swirling for quite some time regarding the introduction of a SUV based off the Jeep/Durango platforms. It looks like the Kubang is a synergy between Maserati and domestic U.S. auto manufacturer Chrysler. My assumption is that the vehicle will see production in 2013 assuming economic conditions in Europe and the U.S. don’t worsen.
