Looks Like The Dart Might Get 40 Mpg. Marchionne Interview
There’s speculation that the 2013 Dodge Dart will be able to hit 40 mpg or more when launched. This is primarily due to a recent interview that CEO Sergio Marchionne gave Reuters that alluded to the acquisition of another 5% of Chrysler. Under the agreement FIAT made with the U.S. government back in 2009 they have to produce a car in America that gets at least 40 mpg before they can acquire another 5% stake in Chrysler. During the interview they touched on the financial insecurities that currently surround the European Union. They also spoke about the role reversals between Chrysler and FIAT. Another interesting tidbit was Marchionnes statement about the so-so launch of the FIAT 500 in America.
