Normal Chrysler Plant Shutdowns Moved From July To June
Chrysler will be shutting 3 of its plants early this year. Its normal for Chrysler plants to shut down during the summer for at least two weeks. What Chrysler is doing is moving the shutdown from July to June. It’s a smart move designed to mitigate the affects of vehicle production caused by part supply issues due to the Japan earthquake. By moving the date up it gives part suppliers time to come up with alternatives, or to get plants back on line. Chrysler expects very little disruption from the current parts supply issues.
