New 2012 Lancia Lineup May Look Familiar

Lancia is a quasi-luxury brand owned by FIAT and sold throughout Europe. Some of the vehicles in the 2012 lineup may look familiar.

Note: This isn’t a bad thing. Chrysler offers some very attractive products that may appeal to Europeans. Also it looks like the rebranded 300 may get the new 8 speed trans.

There seems to be a win win for the US side as well as the European side. It seems that the Chrysler/Lancia division has things figured out for both sides with fantastic line-ups. I hope the Dodge, Jeep and Fiat/Alfa/Iveco people are as much on top of their divisions. The one thing I think is very important is that Chrysler take advantage of the diesels that Fiat and Iveco have to offer. I believe bio-diesel standard or hybrid is the way of the future. Bio-diesel produced from algae can produce 1800 gal per acre and doesn’t used up productive land.

    • I agree with you 100%. Chrysler/FIAT Group have plans to bring fuel efficient diesels to the Chrysler lineup. As part of the deal with the U.S. government they must deliver a 40+ mpg passenger vehicle to the states. Bets are that this will be met by introducing rebranded FIAT’s with fuel efficient gas or diesel vehicles. They have a very interesting hybrid concept they have been working on. You may find this interesting.
